About me

Dry Stone Builder

I've been working in the Ardèche since 2015, after being trained and qualified at the professional dry stone school in Lozère in 2014.

I worked as part of a team of Granite dry stone retaining wall specialists in the St-Joseph and Côte-Rôties vineyards in the Rhône Valley, the region where I grew up.

They passed on their know-how to me, and the years have forged my hands.

Behind us, 9 years of memories, colleagues, encounters, countries, farmers, and all possible stones, everywhere dry-built,

Chalet, Terrace, Faysse, Restanque, Granite, Moraine, Schist, Limestone and Sandstone... We've learned to cut them all (or to avoid doing so!), to choose them, to think of the wall as a whole, stone by stone, day by day, season by season.

This profession has enabled me to meet many people, and to learn a lot about something that connects us all: a past so close to us when we lived off our land, with our stones and our hands.
